(b. 1972, Wausau, WI, lives in Watertown, TN).  Jason Briggs received his BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1995 and his MFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1999.  After a summer at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, MT, he spent 3 years serving as Artist in Residence at the Appalachian Center for Crafts in Smithville, TN.  Jason was recently invited as a visiting artist to The Taiwan National University of Art in Taipei.  He received a Virginia Groot Foundation Fellowship in 2007, a Tennessee Arts Commission Grant in 2006, as well as several other awards for his work. His work is in public and private collections home and abroad, including the Museum of Arts and Science in Evansville, IN and The World Ceramic Center in Ichon, Korea.  Recent shows include “Full & Spare: Ceramics in the 21st Century” at Florida State University’s Museum of Fine Art, and Florida Atlantic University’s “south X east” exhibition.  He teaches part-time at Lipscomb University in Nashville while maintaining a studio in Watertown, TN.
